Don't Let a Faulty Oven Gasket Ruin Your Christmas Cookies
18th Dec 2015
If your oven isn't getting up to temperature or not baking evenly you may have a faulty door gasket on your hands.
To see if your gasket is faulty, move your hand around the edges of the door. If you can feel heat escaping you could probably use a new gasket.
Start by removing the old gasket from the channel. There may be screws holding it on, if so just bend back the edge of the gasket so you can get to them.
Next, clean the frame and channel with a mild mixture of water and household detergent.
Then you can start installing the new gasket. Begin at the top of the frame, working down the sides and finishing at the bottom, butting the two ends tightly together.
And voila! Now you're ready to bake those Christmas cookies!
