Tips on Getting Rid of Grass Stains
22nd Feb 2015
Grass stains suck, am I right? Everyone is always saying that we need to "stop and smell the roses". We are supposed to get out and get fresh air. But what they do not tell you is that being outside can be very hard on your clothing. Case in point: grass stains. Grass stains are super annoying! They can be so hard to get out of clothing! Well fear not, here are some great ways to get those pesky grass stains out!
- Rubbing Alcohol. Rubbing alcohol can be very effective at getting grass stains out of clothing. Just be sure to use a sponge to wet the stain with the alcohol. Then be sure to let it dry completely. Rinse the item. Then use some laundry detergent on the stain. Then rinse a second time and let dry again. Then wash normally.
- White Vinegar. Use plain white vinegar to pre-treat grass stains. Use a combination of vinegar and warm water. After pre-treating the stain, wash the item as you would normally.
- Hydrogen Peroxide and Bleach. Use a combination of 1/4 a cup of each and then combine with 3/4 a cup of cold water. Treat the stain and let sit for an hour. Rinse and then wash normally. But only use this on light colored clothing. It can take the color out of your clothing as well!
Also make sure you treat the stain as quickly as possible! The longer the stain has to set the harder it will be to get out! And make sure you are not too rough with the fabric. Also stay away from ammonia, degreaser, or alkaline detergents! These can permanently set the stain!
Well there you have it! A few simple ways to get grass stains out of your clothes. Just be sure to test any solution on a small area of clothing before using (you would not want to accidentally ruin your favorite shirt, would you?)!
